Q1. How to use the sprayhead?
The spray nozzle has 3 positions: OFF, SPRAY and STREAM.
For details please refer to the figure below.

a) Turn the nozzle until the word "SPRAY" is upper most for normal wide spraying. (Recommended position)
b) Turn the nozzle until the word "STREAM" is upper most for straight and long distance spraying.
c) Turn the nozzle until the word "OFF" is upper most to lock.

Q2. Why is there a problem with the sprayhead of BioKill® that it can't spray?
Please ensure that the nozzle is set to appropriate position(refer to Q1).

Occasionally, the sprayhead will be blocked by sediment, so please shake well before use to avoid this problem. If this occurs, please remove the sprayhead and rinse under clear water and do several sprays using clear water to clear the clogging. Replace the sprayhead on the bottle. Shake bottle for approx. 30 seconds. If it still doesn't work after that, please contact us at 3575-2555 to arrange a replacement sprayhead.

Many cases have nothing to do with sprayhead but with sediments that tend to accumulate on the bottom of the container. This needs to be dispersed by thorough shaking or filtering of the contents.

If you found the broken sprayhead problem, there may be due to the logistics and warehouse-managing problem.

We generously exchange the sprayhead for clients. Please don't hesitate to contact us at 3575-2555 and we will send a replacement sprayhead to you by post, free of charge.

Q3. How to use BioKill® product?
BioKill® is a contact and surface spray. It is ideally being used before the insects even appear. The best places to spray are behind fridges, stoves, in dark corners and humid hidden places, on window sills and in crack and crevices. Just spray until the surface is slightly wet. Do not wipe it off but leave it until dry.

Q4. Do I/we need/don't need to cover the food while spray?
No, BioKill® is safe to human beings and pets (warm-blooded animals). No need to cover food whilst spraying.

Q5. After spray, should I need to wash everything again?
No, absolutely not. BioKill® insecticide is most effective if it is left where it has been sprayed. The effect can last anywhere up to 4 weeks for BioKill® Universal Insecticide and several months for BioKill® Long Lasting Insecticide, also depending on surface and environment conditions (sun light, organic environment, rain etc. will dramatically reduce the residual effect).

Q6. How long I need to spray again?
BioKill® Universal Insecticide: in intervals of 3-4 weeks.

BioKill® Long Lasting Insecticide: initial treatment followed by another treatment after 21 days. Thereafter in intervals of about 1-3 months.

Q7. How should I apply BioKill® Insecticide most effectively?
BioKill® insecticide is a perfect prevention product. Spray in problem areas in regular intervals (refer to Q3) as prevention. If insects are found, try to trace origin and spray nesting places, places of entry, crack and crevices. Remove all possible accessible food sources, dispose of garbage daily. Keep lid of garbage can closed at all times. Remember: prevention is the best precaution and eliminating the cause is the best prevention.

Q8. What is the mode of action?
BioKill® insecticide penetrates the nerve membranes of cold blooded insects, causes nerves to paralyze and consequently the insects die. Humans and warm-blooded creatures have a different metabolism thus allowing the body to degrade the product without affecting the organism.

Q9. Does BioKill® harm Pets?
No, absolutely not. BioKill® is safe to warm blooded animals but highly toxic to fish and reptiles.

Q10. If my cat/dog happen to lick BioKill®, will that affect it's system and later on cause poisoning?
Cats / Dogs are warm-blooded animals and thus BioKill® is safe to cats / dogs. We had few cases of high breed cat that reacted allergic to BioKill® . This is however rather exceptional and can happen even with humans (many people are i.e. allergic to strawberries, plants etc.).

Q11. If I have a fish tank/reptile cage, what should I do?
Cover the tank/cage with a damp cloth or waterproof Nylon/Plastic sheet during and after the spraying of BioKill®. Keep the cloth in place for an extended period of time (~2 hours).

Q12. Which insect BioKill® insecticide can Kill?
BioKill® insecticide can kill all insects, however certain insects may take a longer time to die (up to 48 hours). Termites are difficult to be completely eradicated (please refer to Q13) however BioKill® insecticide also acts as a deterrent to insects (repellent effect).

Q13. Can BioKill® insecticide kill termite?
This is not recommended to use BioKill® insecticide to kill termite. Although BioKill® kills termites it also has a repellent effect. Termites form colonies with nesting sites. Termites cannot be eradicated by killing members of the colony. This requires a professional and specialized Pest Control company to resolve the problem.

Q14. Can BioKill® Insecticide kill Geckos and snakes (both are cold blooded animals)?
If the Geckos/Snakes is sprayed directly, it may cause harm to it. The effects will vary depending on body weight/mass of the Geckos/ Snakes. However, BioKill® insecticide is not designed to kill Geckos and Snakes although it may have a certain repellent effect.

Q15. How long does it take for insects to die?
Anywhere between 5-15 minutes, depending on species, temperature etc. It is recommended to spray BioKill® insecticide in intervals of 3-4 weeks into neuralgic places in order to avoid the appearance of insects altogether. Insects die for sure but often hide before dying.

Q16. Why after spraying, there are still many insects?
If the treatment was done correctly and repeated after approx. three weeks, the insects will disappear. However there are always insects coming in again from the outside. It is therefore imperative that in case of heavy infestation, professional pest control is being employed.

Q17.Why does my bottle of BioKill® smell unpleasant?
If the product is sprayed, there should not be an aggressive smell. However in summer time, bacteria can develop quickly in the water, which in turn can cause a foul smell but no other side effects. We have in the meantime installed a reverse osmosis system in the factory to further improve our water quality, which has largely eradicated this problem.

Q18. Chinese caution wordings make customer very confused that where they should dispose the empty bottles? (It looks like impossible to ask customer send back the empty bottle to ANL.)
This is just a recommendation but we do not impose this of course. This is just to show our environment consciousness. Customers can also dispose the empty bottle in PET bottle recycling bins.

Q19. Does it harm to people who drink/touch the BioKill® Long Lasting Insecticide?
BioKill® Long Lasting Insecticide has a very low toxicity. Some people may however experience allergic reaction. This is however very rare. We do discourage anyone to drink BioKill® Insecticide and strongly recommend to keep the product away from children.

Q20. What shall I do if I swallowed BioKill® Insecticide?
Don't panic. Drink plenty of water and induce vomiting if possible. Then go to consult the doctor and take bottle along to show to doctor. There is no danger of poisoning but preventive measure still must be followed.

Q21. What is the best before date and can I use it after the shelf life has expired?
There is a sticker at the bottom of the bottle that stated the manufacturing date. Generally there is no expiration, the product will work for a long time. However after 2 years, the effect will start to deteriorate slowly.

Q22. What the different between BioKill® Universal Insecticide & BioKill® Long Lasting Insecticide?

Q23. What the different between BioKill® Insecticide and BioCare®?
Actually, the formula of BioKill® Universal Insecticide is identical to BioCare's, however the law does not allow us to promote BioKill® Universal Insecticide for pets since BioKill® Universal Insecticide is registered under AFCD be the household insecticide and the ordinance required that any insecticide is use for applying on animal skin should be registered under the government Health Department. Due to this principle, we are not allowed to promote BioKill® for application on pets.

Q24. Why I cannot find any BioCare® in the market now?
We experienced some problems with respect to the licence renewal of our BioCare® since the amendment of the policies of government Heath Department that required our factory to have the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standard, which is a standard that is usually required in medicine production and would have been far too costly for us considering the relatively small market. As a result, we are not able to sell anymore under our BioCare® Trademark for application on pets.

Q25. Why the BioKill® insecticide is Odourless?
Most insecticides use petroleum based additives and heavy concentration of active ingredients which both are smelly. BioKill® is using water and cosmetic type of emulsifiers, which are of very little smell.

Q26. Can I just get a refill rather than buying a whole new bottle?
The law in Hong Kong does not allow for refilling by clients. The refilling would have to be done in our factory. Other countries do allow but Hong Kong does not distinguish between products that are safe and toxic products. They are all treated the same in the eyes of the law. You can return empty bottles to us and we will reuse the bottles.

Q27. Why BioKill® too expensive? Is environment product so expensive?
BioKill® is not expensive when compared with traditional aerosols. In aerosols the contents in ml is containing about 30%-50% of liquid gas, whereas in BioKill® the content is a 100% ready to use product. However it is more expensive to produce our packing with sprayhead than a comparative aerosol spray.

Q28. What is the difference between a space spray and a surface spray?
A space spray is when a pesticide that is applied as very tiny droplets, the droplets float in the air in a localised space and kill flying insect that come in direct contact when the fly through the treated area.

Surface spray is when a pesticide is applied as tiny droplets on a surface, as insect travel across the treated surface the droplet adhere to body and consequently kill the insect. This surface spray is more efficient and longer lasting but tends to have a slower effect than space spraying.
